So to make this 777 deck I went on to Yu Gi Oh Wikia. I wanted to find some random card and make a deck focused around it, luckily they have a random article function. Before I started I needed to create some rules on what card would be okay. These are guidelines I followed.
– Must have been released in English TCG
– Not a Synchro, YXZ or Fusion.
– Not a generic card like – destroy one monster cards.
– Not a card that’s been a part of any famous decks.
So what card did I random?
So… okay. I… wow did I really just random that? So I need to make a deck that’s focused on lowering the level of my cards for some reason? The first things that come to my mind are cards like Gravity Bind and Level Limit Area B that focuses on level control. You could also help with different YXZ and Synchro levels. I’m really at a blind here!
So it took me some time to find cards that could be used with Silent Strider in mind, some cards that would let low-level monsters attack directly, certain synchros that needed low levels. But the one card I found that would support my Silent Strider was this; Castle Gate. Let the deck building begin!
Deck Name: SILENT CASTLE BURN!
The whole idea behind this deck is to burn your opponent for some nasty damage while you sit home safe with protective cards like Spirit Reaper, Arcana Force 0 – The Fool and Threatening Roar. If any of those creatures would be destroyed by a monster effect I will special summon Dragonic Knight. Yay for surprises!
The main win condition in the deck is Summoner Of Illusion, when he’s flipped you can tribute any other monster to Special Summon a Fusion monster from your Extra deck. Let this monster beat your opponent in the face and when that is done, use cards like Silent Strider and Level Returner to put him at a level that allows you to tribute your Fusion monster with Castle Gates effect. If this works out (probably will not but stay positive!) your opponent will be dealt over 8000 damage in one round. If you can’t attack him with the fusion just tribute it to take half your opponents life points away.
Star Blast is used to lower the level of Castle Gate so that you can get it on the field easier, but it’s also there so you can put out Dragonic Knight and Cyber Dinosaur for easy tribute fodder, tributes that deal 2800 damage each to your opponent.
Sangan and Giant Rat will help you on your way to the Castle Gates a key card for the deck. Also, remember to not get Summoner Of Illusion flipped on your opponents turn! It’s important!
1x Cyber Dinosaur
2x Dragonic Knight
2x Spirit Reaper
3x Arcana Force 0 – The Fool
3x Summoner Of Illusions
3x Giant Rat
3x Castle Gate
3x Silent Strider
3x Star Blast
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Giant Trunade
3x Threatening roar
3x Level Returner
2x Magic Cylinder
2x Bottomless Traphole
1x Royal Oppression
1x Mirror Force
Until next time, beware of those Castle Gates!

Yu Gi Oh news? Oh my lord what is this blog coming to! I used to have a lot of that back in the day so no need to be all to surprised. What I really wanted to mention is that one of the coolest archetypes in Yu Gi Oh is soon getting some new cards, and they are getting it together with a new constructed deck that will be released in October.
I’m talking about Dark World and Devil’s Gate. The Constructed deck that was discussed to be released in 2012 now has its entry to the TCG in 2011, awesome for all the fans out there. Also awesome when you start looking at those Dark World cards, they’re actually… awesome! The deck list of these decks usually change once they come out here, the Asians always seem to get the better deal. But let’s take a look at the deck list and hope that most of it stays in there.
SD21-JP001 Grapha, Dragon God of the Dark World
SD21-JP002 Snow, Magician of the Dark World
SD21-JP003 Ceruli, Monk of the Dark World
SD21-JP004 Scarr, Scout of Dark World
SD21-JP005 Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World
SD21-JP006 Gren, Tactician of Dark World

SD21-JP010 Sillva, Warlord of Dark World
SD21-JP011 Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World
SD21-JP012 Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World
SD21-JP013 Gaap the Divine Soldier
SD21-JP014 Darkness Neosphere
SD21-JP015 Belial, Marquis of Darkness
SD21-JP017 Giant Germ x2
SD21-JP018 Dark Necrofear
SD21-JP020 Grave Squirmer
SD21-JP021 Battle Fader
Before I take a jump in to the awesome new creatures, let’s take a look at the reprints in this deck and the awesomeness that comes with it. Seeing several of the old Dark World creatures is great of course, but what I’m really looking at is the reprint of a few other cards. Darkness Neosphere being the first, only earlier released to us as a Turbo Pack card and in a Shonen Jump Magazine. Even though it’s not a great card, I love the artwork and the style so I’m just glad I can easily get my hands on it. Belial is also one of those cards that are fun to see since it was only available as a Secret Rare from Phantom Darkness earlier, now we can get this card in Common as well.
The monsters we’re most excited about are these three: Tragoedia, Dark Necrofear and Battle Fader. It’s about time Tragoedia became an easy to get card, so many other great cards are getting reprints and released as promos, it’s only right to put this one in a starter. I’m not sure it will be allowed to stay for this decks western release, but we can always hope. Even if Tragoedia isn’t seeing as much play anymore, Battle Fader is a sure winner. It’s an awesome card that every deck builder should be able to put in when needed, even thought was reprinted in an easy to get tin promo recently, you still had to get a tin to get a Battle Fader, not as cheap as you want it to be. Dark Necrofear is a card I’m mostly happy about because of how long it’s been since it was printed, last time was in Champion Pack 5, a pack that doesn’t even exists anymore. Let’s see if some crazy kids will put this previously underrated card in to their decks. I say previously because, well its power level isn’t close to the rest of Yu Gi Oh Monsters these days.
Now let’s talk about this decks heavy hitters!
Grapha, Dragon God of the Dark World
DARK/Demon – Effect/8/2700/1800
You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard by returning 1 face-up “Dark World” Monster other than a “Grapha, Dragon God of the Dark World” you control to your hand. If this card is discarded by a card effect from the hand to the Graveyard, select 1 card your opponent controls and destroy it. If this card is discarded by an opponent’s card effect, also look at 1 random card in your opponent’s hand. If the selected card is a Monster Card, you can Special Summon that monster to your field.
This card is just insane, as long as you keep a Dark World monster that can be normal summoned in your hand, you will be able to Special Summon this guy every round! When discarded it also controls the field by destroying any card on it. If this guy won’t see play in the formats to come I will be surprised. But like any good deck, they also need a card to fetch their creatures for them, and they are getting that as well with this next monster.
Snow, Magician of the Dark World」
DARK/Demon – Effect/4/1700/0
If this card is discarded by a card effect from the hand to the Graveyard, add 1 “Dark World” Card from your deck to your hand. If this card is discarded by an opponent’s card effect, you can also select 1 monster in your opponent’s Graveyard and Special Summon it to your field in face-up Defense Position.
I don’t need to say more than the fact these two cards will be in threes in any Dark World deck, of course I may be wrong, but that’s the way I would play it for sure. Dark World has always been stronger if they are allowed to discard from their hand by an opponents’ effect, they are getting a monster that helps them with that. Together with their new field spell, this little guy will be seeing a lot of special summons in the future.
Ceruli, Monk of the Dark World 「暗黒界の導師 セルリ」
DARK/Demon – Effect/1/100/300
If this card is discarded by a card effect from the hand to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card to your opponent’s Field in face-up Defense Position. When this card is successfully Special Summoned by the effect of a “Dark World” Card, your opponent selects 1 card in their hand and discards it.
Wow it’s been a lot of talk about the monsters, let’s jump in to a Spell/Trap list before I overdo this (already have haven’t I?).
SD21-JP022Gate of the Dark World
SD21-JP023 Dark World Lightning
SD21-JP024 Gateway to Dark World x2
SD21-JP025 Dealings of the Dark World
SD21-JP026 Recurring Nightmare
SD21-JP027 Allure of Darkness
SD21-JP028 Card Destruction
SD21-JP029 Demise of the Land
SD21-JP031 Strategy of the Dark
SD21-JP032 The Forces of Darkness
SD21-JP033 Deck Devastation Virus
SD21-JP034 Eradicator Epidemic Virus
SD21-JP035 Mind Crush
SD21-JP036 The Transmigration Prophecy
SD21-JP037 Escape from the Dark Dimension
SD21-JP038 Dark Bribe
Let’s jump in to the fun part. Gate of The Dark World, once per turn this cards let’s you remove a Fiend in your graveyard, to discard a Fiend and then draw a card. It also gives all Fiend monsters 300 ATK and DEF bonus, as if that was the important part? This card allows you to keep activating your Dark World monsters as long as you can keep one in your hand and one in the graveyard. On paper, this looks awesome to support the deck. We will just have to see how well it does in practice.
When looking at the trap list we see awesome reprints like Dark Bribe and Escape from the Dark Dimension, but the only real new card is the Strategy of the Dark card. This cards lets both players discard 2 cards and then draw 2 cards. Your opponent can also discard 1 card to negate this effect. The last sentence kind of ruin this card for me, sure it’s a one for one at worst, but I could really see other cards in this spot that could go one for one in better situations.
Well until next time, don’t discard your opponents hand!
