MTG – Modern Event Deck – Spoiler!

Hello Nurglings!

So a little bird on a forum that non of us ever visist (pfft right) shared a picture of a certain new Modern product! The back of the new Modern constructed deck that you will be able to buy to get in to modern quick and easy. And I must say: I LOVE THE COLORS. Okay… let’s go on.

This picture was posted on the forums;
Modern Constructed Deck - SPoiler

So what we can see is that we’re getting the following cards in the deck for sure:

The deck will include:
Elspeth, Knight Errant
Hero of Bladehold
Intangible Virtue
Honor of the Pure.

So we’re getting a Black and White token deck! I even think I will get one of these just to build a deck myself to have around if there is Modern event I want to go to with a deck that’s not the Blue Urza one. It also says that you will get black disruption cards and white removal cards in the deck. So below are just a few guesses on what you will get in the deck:

Guessing on the following cards:
Lingering Souls
Spectral Procession
Zealous Persecution
Raise the Alarm
Path to Exile
Tidehollow Sculler
MAYBE Thoughtsieze – otherwise something similar like Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek
MAYBE Marshflats, Godless Shrine, Isolated Chapel

The guesses above are all based on cards that are very popular in modern token decks right now. The real question is how much value they want to put into the lands and spells of the deck. They probably won’t give us a full set of any land.

Will be interesting to see what they will add to the first proper Modern product they put out there. Let’s hope it’s better than we think! So what do you think will be in this deck? Leave a comment below to let me know what you think.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

MTG – New Elspeth in Theros!?

Hello Nurglings!

So it seems that Elspeth may be visiting us in Theros! WOOT! About time we get a new Elspeth right? Actually I would love a new Nissa but that will probably take some time sadly. So the reason behind this rumor is a certain comercial “card/token” that comes out in M14.

Check it here:
Theros - Possible Spoiler - Elspeth

So what do you think? Will we see G/W Elspeth at last?
Maybe.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

MTG Deck – Modern – Undead Barrage (in honor of Sam Black)

MTG Deck - Undead Barrage

Hello Nurglings!

It’s about time! FINALLY there is a Modern deck out there that I can use Bloodghast in! So I’m a huge fan of a Legacy Deck created by Sam Black, the list is below he used when going top-8 in Grand Prix Atlanta.

Sam Black’s Zombie Bombardment

Lands: 20
3x Badlands
3x Bloodstained Mire
2x Marsh Flats
3x Polluted Delta
3x Scrubland
2x Swamp
1x Undiscovered Paradise
3x Verdant Catacombs

Creatures: 18
3x Blood Artist
4x Bloodghast
4x Carrion Feeder
4x Gravecrawler
3x Tidehollow Sculler

Other Spells: 22
2x Bitterblossom
4x Cabal Therapy
4x Faithless Looting
3x Goblin Bombardment
4x Lingering Souls
4x Thoughtseize
1x Tragic Slip

Okay we’re missing a few key cards from the list in Modern, first of all: Carrion Feeder. It’s a very important zombie that we sadly can’t get in to our Modern deck, but there are a few interesting options that you can use instead. The one I’ve decided to use for this list is : Geralf’s Messenger. It’s a bit costly for a deck that want to keep it cheap, but I think that it will work out, will just have to try and see. I’ve also added a 4th copy of Tidehollow Sculler for that extra zombie card, which we need for Gravecrawler.

Another thing that makes Carrion Feeder a great card is the fact that it grows larger as you ping your opponent with Blood Artist, AND it can also make your Tidehollow Sculler to hand removal. Sacrifice the Sculler in response to it’s trigger and the card is gone forever.

The second card we’re missing from this list is Goblin Bombardment. But guess what? With the M14 release we get a card that is not even half as good, but it gives us a card that functions very similar to it: Barrage of Expendables. Which you can see here below:

MTG - in with the barrage

Okay so you just want the list of cards right? Well here you go:

Nurgle’s Undead Barrage

Lands: 22
4x Marsh Flats
4x Verdant Catacombs
2x Arid Mesa
4x Blood Crypt
4x Godless Shrine
3x Blackcleave Cliffs
1x Mutavault

Creatures: 19
4x Bloodghast
4x Gravecrawler
4x Blood Artist
4x Tidehollow Sculler
3x Geralf’s Messenger

Other spells: 19
4x Barrage of Expendables
4x Faithless Looting
4x Lingering Souls
4x Thoughtseize
2x Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
1x Inquisition of Kozilek

Yes I also added 2 Sorins to the deck, these are in the deck instead of Bitterblossom… cause it’s banned! I just want to see if they can work alright in the deck. So guys, I hope you enjoy the list and will give it a try if you have the cards available, and let me know how it works alright? Awesome!

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

MTG – Standard Deck – Token Artist

Hello Nurglings!

I’m not going to do a long explanation of the deck and all the card choices for this deck. Well, not today anyway.
I’m currently way to tired to sit down and write out my thoughts without making it all…. fuzzy. So without further ado,
I present to you a deck that I will be playing the current Standard format. Hardly and changes need to be made when rotation comes,
and that makes this deck a keeper for me.

Creatures: 8
4x Avacyn’s Pilgrim
4x Geist-Honored Monk
3x Blood Artist

Ohter spells: 26
4x Lingering Souls
4x Midnight Haunting
4x Intangible Virtue
4x Parallel Lives
3x Rampant Growth
2x Increasing Devotion
2x Divine Reckoning
2x Timeley Reinforcment

Lands: 24
4x Evolving Wilds
4x Sunpetal Grove
4x Plains
4x Forest
4x Swamps
2x Gavony Township
2x Vault of the Archangel

So hope you enjoyed it.

MTG – Double Faced Token Card (Human / Wolf)

Hello Nurglings!

Guess what, yea when I saw this I was thinking: Da hell!? Posted on the so called mothership site for Magic the Gathering was this token card. It will be given out for one reason: during April 6th there will be a full moon. Guess what day April 6th is? That’s right it’s friday and that means it is time for Friday Night Magic!

Since Innistrad has a lot of focus around the moon with werewolves and what not, they thought it would be fun to give out something extra to their players. Every player that joins their FNM on April 6th will get one of these tokens.

But this raises one important question.

Is this a token that will be given out later in Avacyn Restored? Or is it only for this special “event”.
The reason I want to know: I want several!

Enjoy:

Until next time, take care Nurglings.

Nurgle Standard Brew – Evil Township Deck (WW kinda)

Hello my Nurglings!

Time to go back and look at a deck that I posted a short while ago, the deck that I then called: WW Token Enchantress. Was it a good name? No, maybe not but it was the best I could come up with on a short notice. The deck has now actually been played during an FNM, with a few changes though. (We had to build it in 10 minutes before the tournament started and a few weird changes had to be made).

I was lucky enough to see a complete game with the deck, and as a bystander I could see the issues and what I needed to change. The deck played Mirran Crusader in this hasty version, which was not in the old list (a good add though it wrecks with one or two Honor Of The Pure on the field).

I also noticed that Mesa Enchantress, even though I love her and want to see her in a deck, is not a good enough card. You want to play the enchantments as quick as possible, and that was slowed down by having an enchantress in your hand. The reason; you want to draw that extra card so you have to play Enchantress first. Conclusion: Mesa Enchantress is being scrapped.

Oh my lord there are being so many changes made to this deck, mainly the creature line up. Let’s take a look at it.

Creatures:
4x Doomed Traveler
4x Mirran Crusader
4x Geist-Honored Monk
2x Hero Of Bladehold

So already we’re seeing a big difference from the old list. Mirran Crusader is added because he was just too awesome to resist, the spot was originally planned to held by Mausoleum Guard so if you’re not feeling like playing Crusaders that’s another sweet pick. Leonin Arbiter is also taken out for a more solid pick in Hero Of Bladehold, you cannot deny her awesomeness.

Quickly moving on:

Enchantments: 8
4x Honor Of The Pure
4x Intangible Virtue

Other Spells: 14
4x Timley Reinforcment
4x Midnight Haunting
4x Altar’s Reap
2x Elspeth Tirel

So now you see why the deck is “evil”, I play four Altar’s Reap to reap the benefits of plenty of token creatures. The deck was originally created to be cheap to play, Elspeth Tirel was actually Doom Blades up till the second I posted the deck here. But obviously she is better for the deck, and doom blades can be in the side board if needed. Or Elspeth can be replaced by Doom Blade if you want to play a cheaper version. Elspeth is a though card though, it was either her or two other cards that that I would love to play in the deck, look below to see which cards I was thinking about.

And the lands:

Land: 24
2x Ghost Quarter
4x Swamp
4x Isolated Chapel
14x Plains

Well that’s it for this time, another take on a WW type of deck, with a higher mana curve than usual. But I hope you like this brew of a deck and please comment if you try it out or have any changes or ideas for it. (Like adding space for those Swords!)

Until next time, take care.

WW deck – Token Enchantress – Standard MTG

Hello my Nurglings!

I know you love me when I show you decks and guess what? It’s time for another one, and it’s all about one type of deck that I love; WW. Kind of? Perhaps? Maybe like WW? So why did I look at this deck to begin with for the coming format? It’s mostly because of two cards, two enchantments none the less.

Look at the two cards (Honor Of The Pure / Intangible Virtue), is this a match made in heaven or what? If you can play a deck that gets enough white token creature, you’re in the awesome! And this deck, does just that. Let’s look at the creatures first shall we.

Creature: 17
4x Mesa Enchantress
4x Geist-Honored Monk
4x Doomed Traveler
4x Leonin Arbiter
1x Sun Titan

So you’re looking at this thinking: That’s not a lot of token creators mr Nurgle. Well guess what? This is not the place for that. But you still have Doomed Traveler and Geist-Honored Monk is in the deck to help you with the token creation. Monk is a fantastic card with just one or two +1/+1 enchantments out. Two extra 3/3 flyers with your new 4/4 or 5/5 Vigilance creature, is nothing to laugh at for just the 5 mana.

Mesa Enchantress add some extra draw when you play your enchantments, that can be vital for not running out of steam.Leonin arbiter is a card that I’m just trying out with Ghost Quarter to see how that works in an actual deck. Otherwise it will be traded out for some other great white creatures (there are plenty of them in the format).

NEXT! Wait wait, before looking at the enchantments, I just want to say: don’t have much to say about them. They are self explanatory.

Enchantment: 12
4x Honor Of The Pure
4x Intangible Virtue
4x Oblivion Ring

Other Spells: 8
4x Midnight Haunting
4x Timeley Reinforcment

Here they are, the token creators, survival and combat tricks. Three mana for two possible 3/3 flyers in instant speed, sounds bad? I think not. These are eight cards that are awesome in themselves, but becomes even better the more +1/+1 enchantments you hit. If you manage to get 4 enchantments out at anytime, these cards create 5/5 creatures, with vigilance, and a few of them even fly. It’s sweet!

Oh and:

Land: 23
19x Plains
4x Ghost Quarter

Well that’s it for now.
Until next time, stay safe.
