The MetaPod – XY: BREAKthrough set review w/ WanderingVenser

Hello Nurglings!

Welcome to the first official blog post where I announce the fact that our “Pokémon talk” recordings shall now be called:

The Metapod Log

I’m aware that this recording is VEEERY long, but we talked about every single card and we may have spent a bit to much talking about the early bad cards just to rush through them towards the end.

BUT, still had a great and fun time reviewing this card for card, and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

Thanks for watching/listening!

Nurgleprobe’s TOP 10 – Netrunner artwork

So the only thing I really had to think about before doing this list was: Should I include promo art in this list. Sure promos are a part of the game but it’s not something that you will always see when getting expansions or playing with your buddies. So… should it be here? Well after looking through some of the promo cards I realized that they’re not always ”better” and they are a part of the Netrunner game so I kept them in there.

I first thought that I would give small motivation to each art but I just truly like them and just putting them in order should be enough for this list. Also, the Order & Chaos set and SanSan cycle are not included in the list.

So… here we go!

At spot number 10.

10. Wyldside (Alternate art)
Netrunner card - Wyldside promo

9. Blackguard
Netrunner card - Blackguard

8. Datasucker (Alternate art)

7. Tsurugi

6. Self-modifying Code

5. Jinteki Personal Evolution (Alternate art)

4. Excalibur

3. Shiro

2. Savoir-Faire

Battlefleet Gothic coming to PC

It’s finally happening!
Empire: Total War was never a big hit out there in the world, but I’ve always wanted it becuase of the awesome sea battles. Ever since I started playing video games I’ve always been facinated with armadas or big ships fighting it out. I’m not sure where this facination comes from but I just love to see a crew work together to fight against another crew. Positioning, team work, speed and heading always being key to victory.

When I was younger of course I found myself facinated with the game: Battlefleet Gothic. It took the armadas up to space and it looked marvelous. As I was also a huge fan of miniature games back then of course this game spoke to me. But I never got a chance to try it, it was hard to find miniatures and boxes for it, nobody really played it, it was just something that I hade a chance to read about in magazines.

But here it is, my chance to finally fight space battles in the Warhammer 40k universe. From what I’ve gathered from the very lacking information you will be able to play Imperial, Orc, Chaos and Eldar fleets and your crew will level up inbetween missions and/or engagmenets.

The game will be created by Tindalos Interactive. Let’s hope this game WONT be canceled…

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

MTG – M14 – Top 3 Spoiled cards [So far]

Hello Nurglings!

So there are several M14 spoilers out already (If you wan’t to believe 158 cards), but there is a good amount of time until the set is actually released. In the meantime I thought I would share with you, my top 3 spoiled cards. These are the cards that I think will have the most effect on the meta to come when the Innistrad block rotates out of the Standard.

In no particular order:

Archangel of Thune
M14 - Spoiler - Archangel of Thune

The one big reason I believe in this card is because will want to play it, in control like decks, it gives you life, it grows bigger and it aids your other creatures (if any). I’m never a sucker for big white cards, being a weenie player myself, but this angel I like.

Liliana’s Reaver
M14 - Spoiler - Liliana's Reaver
Once again, if blue/black control or mono black control becomes a thing, guess who will be a key card as it stands now? THIS GUY. I can only really say that he’s like a worse version of Grave Titan, but maybe that’s good enough, it creates zombies and it makes your opponent discard cards. Both are great effects for more controlish decks.

Shadowborn Demon
M14 - Spoiler - Shadowborn Demon

(And yes I’m a sucker for black cards, okay?)

Magic the Gathering – M14 – The “return” of Slivers!

Hello Nurglings!

Yes it’s “true” Slivers will come back in M14 in a sad sad shape and form. Personally I like the idea of having this kind of horde/legion kind of evil force in the Magic universe and the cards with the word Sliver on them have all been sweet in one way or another.

The newer form of Slivers sadly doesn’t get me there. I LOVE the new style on their artwork but it also feels like they alienate other Slivers by sticking out way to much. The effects the Slivers get in M14 are all pretty standard. Giving Haste, trample and +stat abilities. So nothing crazy from what we’ve seen so far.

Here below are a few of the new aliens.

M14 - Battle Sliver
M14 - Blur Sliver
M14 - Groundshaker Sliver
M14 - Sentinel Sliver
M14 - Steelform Sliver
M14 - Striking Sliver

I just want to tell you before you move on: NO. These are not related to the next block, they are just a fun thing that they’ve added in M14. So enjoy it!

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

Selesnya Event Deck – Decklist + Value analysis!

Hello Nurglings!

Sorry about the late update but in the coming hour there will be a few updates and posts and so on! So stay in touch! 😀

First of all let’s take a look at the latest event deck and let’s do it from a money standpoint. How worth is this event deck for you if you’re a collector / trader? All the prices below are from

Selesnya Event Deck - Box

When it comes to lands the ones worth talking about is a single copy of: Godless Shrine and Grove of the Guardians. These together ends up at the price:

The creatures are not very exciting, if you need any of these cards I would recommend just trading for them or buying them from a card shop, the prices should be about the same or lower then the ones below.

Champion of Lambholt – 1.89$
Geist Honored Monk – 0.49$
Odric, Master Tactician – 1.49$
Wayfaring Temple – 0.79$
4x Centaur Healer – 1$

~ 5.50$

And here comes the moneys!

Advent of the Wurm – 6.49$
4x Call of the Conclave ~ 1$
Growing Ranks – 1.29$
Increasing Devotion – 0.89$
4x Intangible Virtue ~ 6$
3x Lingering Souls ~ 6$
Parallel Lives – 3.69$
2x Rancor ~ 6$
4x Selesnya Charm – 4$

Okay so there are the values and we ended on a proper value of 35$ and that is without counting all the very cheap common cards. So what is the price of the even deck itself? It’s 24.99$ if we use the same source. So in that alone I would say that the deck is worth it. Even without the money worth I would say that you get a fair amount of “okay” cards if you’re a newer player, getting this deck and building from it could definitely work out!

Here is the complete decklist:

4 Evolving Wilds
6 Forest
1 Godless Shrine
1 Grove of the Guardian
7 Plains
4 Selesnya Guildgate
1 Swamp

1 Champion of Lambholt
2 Doomed Traveler
1 Geist-Honored Monk
1 Odric, Master Tactician
1 Wayfaring Temple
2 Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage

1 Advent of the Wurm
4 Call of the Conclave
1 Growing Ranks
1 Increasing Devotion
4 Intangible Virtue
3 Lingering Souls

M13 Planeswalkers!

Hello Nurglings!

So in M13 we will be getting Nicol Bolas (sweet!) and a new version of both Liliana and Ajani. Liliana being a 2BB card, and Ajani 1WW (awesome!). Obviously we don’t have good pictures of the two cards yet (or any cards from M13), but we do have some commercial images.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.
