Netrunner News – SanSan Cycle – Chrome City – A few new cards!

Hello everyone.

Here we are to look at a few new cards from the third pack in the SanSan cycle, let’s see if they look any good.

brain-cage
Okay so I just want to being by saying: I truly never think taking brain damage is worth it, not for any kind of effect (well unless you win the game but this wont win the game on the spot). Even tho you lose 1card in hand size, you gain 3. So basicly… you gain 2 when it’s all said and done. I’m in general not a big fan of a card that gives you a bigger handsize, it doesn’t give you an advantage in it’s own right and sure it can build up for other kinds of combos, but I’m not really sure there is any kind of combo in the game that needs this card that’s worth it. We even have a resource card in the game at the moment that gives us the same effect (but is not being played anywhere important as far as I know) and that is Public Sympathy. A nay for me.

net-ready-eyes
If we just ignore the damage part of this card which I think you actually should… more or less. This is a card that makes plenty of the standard Ice Breakers alot better (Yog.0 for example that can’t naturally be buffed). But that also of course depends on the ice your facing and if you’re often one strength of from being able to interact with the ice. Getting that one extra strength to brake through somewhat stronger ice can be a game changer at times. This card even saves you money the longer you have it on the field and the bigger need you have to buff your cards.

chrome-parlor
You want to put this card in your deck just to make a few other cards better. No, not wasting card space, resources or time on that.

cybernetics-divisionself-destruct-chipsryon-knight

I’ve put all these cards up at the same time and the in same text cause I just love to see them as a unit. Each card in itself has a pretty good effect and they mix and match incredibly well to create a strong game plan.

The new identity may not look like much, but in a way it automaticly puts 1 brain damage on the runner at the beinning of the game. Which is awesome and also very strong against Andromeda if she can’t get plenty of cards out on the first turn (yea the chances of that happening is low… but still).

Then we have the Agenda that ALSO acts like a brain damage, working great in combination with the identity and the new card Ryon Knight which just seems… incredibly good. Mixing it with some ice that forces your opponents to spend clicks is now great. As a Runner you will have to think about what will happen if Ryon is at a certain location. Thinking about if they have to stop after spending a few clicks and at the same time if you’ve put in resources to make a run… you will want to complete it. Right?

In general I just love the gameplan of lowering your opponents hand with cards that are not in themself horrible. I can definatly see myself trying out a HB deck once this pack is out.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

Battlefleet Gothic coming to PC

It’s finally happening!
Empire: Total War was never a big hit out there in the world, but I’ve always wanted it becuase of the awesome sea battles. Ever since I started playing video games I’ve always been facinated with armadas or big ships fighting it out. I’m not sure where this facination comes from but I just love to see a crew work together to fight against another crew. Positioning, team work, speed and heading always being key to victory.

When I was younger of course I found myself facinated with the game: Battlefleet Gothic. It took the armadas up to space and it looked marvelous. As I was also a huge fan of miniature games back then of course this game spoke to me. But I never got a chance to try it, it was hard to find miniatures and boxes for it, nobody really played it, it was just something that I hade a chance to read about in magazines.

But here it is, my chance to finally fight space battles in the Warhammer 40k universe. From what I’ve gathered from the very lacking information you will be able to play Imperial, Orc, Chaos and Eldar fleets and your crew will level up inbetween missions and/or engagmenets.

The game will be created by Tindalos Interactive. Let’s hope this game WONT be canceled…

Hearthstone – Bringing singleplayer and 30 new cards! [5 of them below]

HS News - Curse of Naxramas - A heartstone Adventurer

Hello Nurglings!

Blizzard just announced some awesome news for Hearthstone. They will finally give us a singleplayer like experience with a dungeon like mode within Hearhstone.
Tho the news I feel is most important to me as a constructed player (with hardly any money) is to see what the 30 new cards will be. It’s fun to see the new commons and rares that we can add to our cheap decks. And the five that has been shown so far (I was really close on the spider egg effect btw!) seems interesting enough.

Back to the event part:

The whole thing is a single-player experience within HS, you play through “five wings” and at each level you face bosses, challenges and unlock cards for your collection. Sounds sweet! I thought… until I read that beyond the first wing you will actually have to pay to enter the next stage (with gold or real money), and this kinda makes my eye twitch a little bit. I don’t mind if the gold price Is fairly costed (the same cost of a arena run would be fine with me), but anything that seems way to high for casual players would just make me irritated.

I know you want to make money, but please give the poor players a fair chance to experience this as well!

Anyway, to read more about the event format and so on go here: http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/13665269

Now let’s move on to comment the cards!

HS Spoiler - New Card - Undertaker
So we don’t know about all the new Deathrattle cards that will be coming out so it’s kinda hard to say if this card is “good” or not. I would say that it’s okay at the moment. Every other Deathrattle card basicly gets a Shattered Sun Cleric battlecry attached to them (well for this card). And there are a few that already see play and are actually played in the earlier turns. Once again, not sure if that makes it worht this card for a chance of pumping it up. You probably want to play a card that makes sure you get some value. Hard to say at the moment tho, will be interesting to see if people try this card out.

HS Spoiler - New Card - Naxxramas
Okay I love this card! So the place I already see it in, is the Miracle Rogue deck. Being able to play a card turn 3 that have stealth built in that will grow every turn after that? Yes please! Seems to be a very strong card for that deck and maybe even for other decks depending on how long they want to stay in the game. Remember tho that Miracle Rogue is not the strongest deck in the game exactly but it’s fun to see a new card that works for that deck.

HS Spoiler - New Card - Nerubian Egg
This card is interesting. I was very close on my guess on this cards effect, I was right on the deathrattle and what kind of effect it would have (tho I guessed a 5/5). But I was also hoping for the card to have built in Taunt, to make it hard for your opponent to decide if he wants to attack for a turn or not. You can still give it taunt with other cards of course, or give it attack so that you can trade it with another minion and get the spider out on the field. The card gives some great value when it creates a 5/5 in a trading situations, and even giving it taunt will create strong situations for you. Your opponent dont want to attack it unless they can handle the 5/5 with what they have available to them, but not attacking it would also mean one or two wasted turns (depending on the gameplan of the deck of course). I do believe it’s a strong card, but at the same time I think it’s hard to find a great place for it right now. Is it a better Taunt card than Ancient Watcher? Maybe.

HS Spoiler - New Card - Dancing Swords
You get a cheap big creature, and it may be worth it if they waste 2+ cards on it. Most of the time they wont. So. Yea. No. The problem is that you lose the card AND your opponent gains a card. Even if he trades 1for1, he still replaces the card he used and you get nothing from it. Don’t like him. Rather play Harvest Golem turn 3 that gives me a similar situation instead of him, or even a Yeti on turn 4.

HS Spoiler - New Card - Baron Rivendare
It’s lacking the attack, but triggering Deathrattle on your minions twice? It’s pretty good actually! He’s cheaply costed enough to make it worth while as well, you get 2 minions from Harvest Golem, you draw 2 cards from Loor Hoarder, Leper Gnome deals 4 damage, Sylvanas Windrunnes takes 2 minions, Carine Bloodhoof gives you 2 minions. Spider Egg gives you two minions. Yea. Seems to be fine when the value is there!

Can’t wait to see what more they will bring to the game, and I’m excited to see how it will change the meta game and decks being played. COME ON PRIEST!

So where will you use the new cards if anywhere, are you happy with them? Dissapointed?
Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

New Hearthstone card? – Swords of many ???

Hello Nurglings!

Some time ago I heard a rumor that Blizzard wouldn’t do alot of updating to HS when it comes to balance and new cards. Clearly they keep doing that regulrley anyway thank goodness and they’re even now spoiling something on their Facebook that looks like this:

Heartstone new card spoiler

Joined with the following text:
We stumbled across a mysterious cache of blades! Much to our surprise, when we reached out to add them to our collection, they sprung to life and began wildly cutting up everything in their path – including the text on the card! What do you think the text on this card said? What secrets are they trying to hide?

So this is basicly a hint that they’re releasing new cards (or atleast A new card). There are already plenty of guesses what the cards ability/ies will be. Myself I guess one of the following (for fun):

Some mana cost and some name with this ability:
2/1 Charge
Battlecry: Summon a 1/2 taunt.

Some other name and cost with:
2/2 or possibly 2/1
When this minion takes damage deal 2 damage to the source.

It’s always fun to think about new cards but clearly, to little information has been given out so we can’t really give any kind of proper idea of it’s effect since… well we don’t have anything to go on except for ”swords!”. Other then the guesses above, I actually hope and thought of it as a new type of card: Equipment. Instead of enchanting your minions it’s equipped or added to it. Which means that it gives a stable buff (a + sign down by both stats instead of just stats) and can’t be silenced away like the buffs we have right now. Instead, adding a few new cards that “destroy” equipment. But that’s just me… and my dreams.

So what do you think this new card will be? Leave a comment below with your own ideas.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

Scrolls Card Game – Upcoming balance changes!

Hello Nurglings!

So Noaidi will be getting a nerf, it’s currently running the new weaker version on the test servers. Below you can see the original Scrolls + the fixes below it.
To read all about this you can also go here: https://scrolls.com/2013/06/upcoming-balance-changes#more-2403

Scrolls - Spoiler - New card - NoaidiTest server scroll changes
Modified: Noaidi (Growth). Creature, 2/2/2, cost 3. When Noaidi comes into play, you can gain 1 resource of each non-Growth type your opponent has.

So let me be the first to say: Thank you! Not only did I underestimate Noaidi to begin with but I quickly started to hate him. Any Growth deck now have plenty of GREAT match-ups, if it was a mirror match the player running Noaidi all of a sudden had a great advantage in the match-up. And Growth decks with splash cards had a very easy time getting ahead in resources against other mono decks. The power of not having to ”waste” a scroll in your hand for resources is a great ability to have, and Noaidi does that.

The newer Growth/Order control is still running around like a crazy child beating up it’s smaller siblings but… at least their Noaidi pets are nerfed.

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

M14 Spoiler – New Planeswalker! – Garruk, Caller of Beasts

Hello Nurglings!

The completely new Garruk Planeswalker card is now out in the open! It’s been spoiled. But the medium it was spoiled in was semi-surprising…

“Wizards of the Coast has revealed to MTV Geek that at Hasbro ToyShop in San Diego Comic-Con they will be offering a limited edition collection of “Magic: The Gathering” 2014’s Planeswalker cards. The five cards will be presented with unique black-on-black art by Steve Prescott, variants of those found in the core Magic 2014 set. Below you will find both the Magic 2014 and the SDCC version of Garruk.”

Okay so this limited edition with “black” art is awesome. I love the style and I would not mind seeing a Liliana with this type of artwork… so sweet! Okay so let’s get to the card, I won’t do a long post about him today but hope you enjoy this:

M14 - Spoiler - Garruk Caller of Beasts

Also with the short article found here: http://geek-news.mtv.com/2013/06/24/magic-the-gathering-planeswalkers-san-diego-comic-con/

“The full cast of Magic 2014’s planeswalkers are:
– Ajani, Caller of the Pride
– Jace, Memory Adept
– Chandra, Pyromaster
– Liliana of the Dark Realms
– Garruk, Caller of Beasts”

So until next time Nurglings, take care.

Magic the Gathering – M14 – The “return” of Slivers!

Hello Nurglings!

Yes it’s “true” Slivers will come back in M14 in a sad sad shape and form. Personally I like the idea of having this kind of horde/legion kind of evil force in the Magic universe and the cards with the word Sliver on them have all been sweet in one way or another.

The newer form of Slivers sadly doesn’t get me there. I LOVE the new style on their artwork but it also feels like they alienate other Slivers by sticking out way to much. The effects the Slivers get in M14 are all pretty standard. Giving Haste, trample and +stat abilities. So nothing crazy from what we’ve seen so far.

Here below are a few of the new aliens.

M14 - Battle Sliver
M14 - Blur Sliver
M14 - Groundshaker Sliver
M14 - Sentinel Sliver
M14 - Steelform Sliver
M14 - Striking Sliver

I just want to tell you before you move on: NO. These are not related to the next block, they are just a fun thing that they’ve added in M14. So enjoy it!

Until next time Nurglings, take care.

Selesnya Event Deck – Decklist + Value analysis!

Hello Nurglings!

Sorry about the late update but in the coming hour there will be a few updates and posts and so on! So stay in touch! 😀

First of all let’s take a look at the latest event deck and let’s do it from a money standpoint. How worth is this event deck for you if you’re a collector / trader? All the prices below are from trollandtoad.com

Selesnya Event Deck - Box

LANDS
When it comes to lands the ones worth talking about is a single copy of: Godless Shrine and Grove of the Guardians. These together ends up at the price:

~11.50$

CREATURS
The creatures are not very exciting, if you need any of these cards I would recommend just trading for them or buying them from a card shop, the prices should be about the same or lower then the ones below.

Champion of Lambholt – 1.89$
Geist Honored Monk – 0.49$
Odric, Master Tactician – 1.49$
Wayfaring Temple – 0.79$
4x Centaur Healer – 1$

~ 5.50$

OTHER SPELLS
And here comes the moneys!

Advent of the Wurm – 6.49$
4x Call of the Conclave ~ 1$
Growing Ranks – 1.29$
Increasing Devotion – 0.89$
4x Intangible Virtue ~ 6$
3x Lingering Souls ~ 6$
Parallel Lives – 3.69$
2x Rancor ~ 6$
4x Selesnya Charm – 4$

~35$

Okay so there are the values and we ended on a proper value of 35$ and that is without counting all the very cheap common cards. So what is the price of the even deck itself? It’s 24.99$ if we use the same source. So in that alone I would say that the deck is worth it. Even without the money worth I would say that you get a fair amount of “okay” cards if you’re a newer player, getting this deck and building from it could definitely work out!

Here is the complete decklist:

24 LANDS:
4 Evolving Wilds
6 Forest
1 Godless Shrine
1 Grove of the Guardian
7 Plains
4 Selesnya Guildgate
1 Swamp

8 CREATURES:
1 Champion of Lambholt
