Welcome to another week of Blood Bowl Daily episodes, this week only have 4 episodes sadly becuase of some health issues with my dog, but I still managed to get 5 games recorded becuase of some lucky dice rolling!
The past week we played Bretonnia and I’ve never been a huge fan of the human teams and I feared that I would have a equal experience here. Even tho I did enjoy them more, they were still not all that for me (Dwarfs are still the best btw).
But we had a good week, hope you enjoy the games and I will cya here next week after 5 games of nasty ratyness!
Until next time, take care.

Welcome to the blog about Blood Bowl Weekly #11! Okay so the blog is mostly a link to a video but I thought I would write something as well this time. So first of all, Blood Bowl Weekly #11 is all about the vampires, I created a completely new team and played 3 matches vs orc, dwarf and Nurgle. Actually doing pretty good in my opinion!
The vampire team has always been close to my heart, only 2 types of players and the vampires are truly the heroes of the team and field (or villains I guess?). It makes a little bit sad to see that the vampires never had more skins in the original Blood Bowl, hopefully when they re-appear in BB2 they will be a bit more personal. So that each vampire feels like a character (like they should).
Anyway, will not keep you here for long, enjoy the vlog/highlights down below and I will cya again next week with another Blood Bowl Weekly!
Want to see it recorded live? YOu can find me here: http://www.twitch.tv/Nurgleprobe
Recording a new BBweekly every tuesday.
Until next time, take care.
Capitalism, ho! Yea this is one of the weirdest top 10 lists I’ve done in the longest time, ignoring the fact that it was a very very long time since I did a top 10. So in the following list I will present to you, the top 10 games that I want to add to my collection (but because of reasons they’re not in it yet). Let go through the games and tiny motivations to why I have them in my top 10 list of “boardgames I want to add to my collection”.
At spot nr 10.
10. Warhammer 40k: Conquest
I’ve always been a huge fan of trading card games, but recently, I’ve decided to stop playing them and switch to LCG and other collectible games where you know the contect of the expansions (this mostly because of the huge money-sink feeling of TCGs). Conquest have the setting of one of my favorite sci-fi worlds and the gameplay appeals to me in may different ways. Planets to fight over, a joint goal from both sides and hidden movement. And being a part of a LCG in its early days is something that I would love, being able to get the new cards as they are released and learn as the game expands. Conquest together with Netrunner will be my “go to” card games from now on, thanks FFG!
This is not the most popular boardgame in the world, it’s long, have plenty of tiny rules and things to keep in your head and that may not appeal to everyone. BUT I just love how all the mechanics and gameplay creates a story for the character you’re playing. Everything is put in to the game to connect you to the story and world of Android. This universe has a huge appeal to me, and it’s not by chance that I got the other two games set in the same one.
8. Chaos in the old World
This is one of those games… when you sit down and play it, you love it. But then as soon as you leave the table, you hardly remember how the game played. You just remember everything about it feeling thematicly awesome. You play as one of the four chaos gods from the Warhammer Fantasy universe and try to corrupt the old world with your evil powers and followers. I love this game and I really do want it on my shelf. Also… my nickname is Nurgle and in this game… I can not only be called Nurgle around the table, but also PLAY Nurgle. LOVE IT.
7. Tanto Cuore: Oktoberfest
All of you out there can play your Dominions and your Thunderstones, but I will stick around with my maid game Tanto Cuore. This game is loved by both me and my girlfriend and we will never say no if it’s pulled out on to the table. This cute deckbuilder puts you in the master positions of a house that you need to hire maids for… to serve you. The art is very cutesy and even tho it puts of a LOT of players, I hav not played with a single Dominion fan that have not liked this game. Behind the manga style art there is a great deckbuilder. Do not miss out on this game just because you turn your head on the theme. Oh and Oktoberfest is the fourth release in the Tanto Cuore franchise. As soon as it’s out there I’m getting it! (Yea it’s not released yet and already on my list… hm).
6. Fury of Dracula
This is one of those games that have been asking for another print run for the longest time. Or well, people around the world have been asking for it. I’ve wanted to get Fury of Dracula for many many years, but when I finally started with my boardgame hobby, this game was already long gone and in the safe hands of board game collectors everywhere (and I don’t know a single one of them apparantly). One player takes the role as dracula moving secretley around a board while the other players takes the role of vampire hunters trying to track him down. A out of print game that I would love to get my hands on.
5. Battlestar Galactica
You may not know this but one of my favorite board games of all times is “The Resistance”, a game with secret identities where you try to figure out which players are trying to make your life harder. Battlestar Galactica is a cooperative board game where there may be players working against you. There is plenty of things happening in this game and everyturn there are situations that you and the other players have to solve. Will you make it through or is there players working against you stopping you from progressing, or is it just that you can’t complete it anyway? A great game that everyone should try. I have not yet played with the expansions but I’m looking forward to it.
4. Cosmic Encounter
I’ve played this game two times. And those two games had a huge impact on me, I love how everyone plays a race with a very distinct special power and how the gameplay is so inredibly simple. Even tho if there is a simple base to this game, everything above that is huge. You have to communicate, try and create agreements with other players, figure out when to help and when to backstab and just PLAY it. I NEED this game in my collection.
3. Mall of Horror
I’ve played the new “version” of this game called City of Horror. Sadly that new version is lacking, especially when it removed a key element of the old game: hidden voting. It was one of the best parts! You could discuss with players, make deals, but then you make that secret vote and do something completley different to what you just promised. Every player wants to stay in the game, but you can not do so by playing it alone (or by playing nice). Communicate your way to your goal and keep your survivors alive in the mall before the zombies comes a’ knockin’.
2. Dead of Winter
I love zombies. I love hidden traitors. I love discussing. I love story elments. This game put some of my favorite elements from games mentioned in this list and made a game out of it. I CAN NOT WAIT to get this game out on the table with a group of players and try to beat them down as the traitor…. you know… if I end up being the traitor. I’ve been waiting to get this game for a long time and as soon as it is back in stock in my local store I will be all over it.
1. Twilight Imperium 3
Epic. Epicness. Epic sci-fi madness. I have not yet played this game. But everytime I see a review of it, everytime I see the gameplay, everytime I feel like playing a long and epic game, Twilight Imperium 3 just pops up in my head. There is so much I think I would enjoy about this game, the space battles, diplomacy, technology, special abilities. MAN. This game. Is something I want to display and have my buddies that enjoy sci-fi just go: WHAT. LET’S PLAY THAT ONE. And I will do it, everytime. I mean… if we have 5-6 hours to spend.
This game… erm and when I say game I really mean ”game”. Feels like a flashgame that you log on to from some website and play for a few minutes with a buddy or two. And… that’s kinda what this game is. You definatly need a few friends to play with and a maybe even be a bit tired to find the weird moments funny.
So the point of the game is to climb on your friends. Really. You can either decide on building a ”tower” (vertically) or ”bridge” (horizontally) with human bodies in different color and styles that you decide on before the game. The turn passas around between the players each getting a body to control. Then you need to get that body as high up or far as possible on a joint construction and if you’re unable to pass the farthest/highest body already there, you are out of that round. There is also a timer… of course.
Each limb is controlled by a different key on the keyboard or buttons on a pad if you use that (I do!). And the akward moments when you fail with the controls will bring everyone to a laugh, even you.
And that’s the game folks!
This is such a stupid game, yet I actually had fun with it. Me and my friends got many good laughs from this game seeing the other players fail on reaching the top of our naked-body-construction. Sadly that’s all the game will give you. A few playthrough with your buddies and then you’re kinda done. And it wont be fun for hours and hours but rather a few minutes at a time.
I feel like I should not recommend this game knowing how silly and shortlived it is. But for that short moment… we actually had a blast. Dont expect to play this game for long, but if you’re bored for a evening give it a try.
Since the day Borderlands 2 came out I had a case of the Con Crud, I took off from work and played it with Trev in between naps and doses of dayquil. Yay con crud!
In any case, I feel that Gearbox really out did themselves with this game. Where they were restricted in the first due to money and an industry who isn’t to accommodating to new things anyway, for this one they sem to have really been given full reign. Also, little to no tutorial! YUSH! Although I am guilty of switching back to Borderlands 1 controls. I LIKE FAMILIAR!
I decided to start the game at Axton since everyone else seemed to be going as Zer0 and Trev was determined to do Maya. I happily do not regret my choice. Where I could not get into Roland’s character, I am loving the little tidbits of Axton that we have gotten, I love how he talks to his turret, and so far I’m enjoying the tank type roll.
Not to mention that turret is so much more bad ass then the previous one.
The environments are much more varied and crisp and the people are vastly more interactive. I have been in some cities, deserted towns, bandit camps, ice areas, and desert like areas. It is certainly a change from the all brown out look of the Pandora from Borderlands 1. It is a very nice change. So far I have encountered Nomads, Rakks, Skaggs, Bullymogs, and bandits. One top of three boses. Fast paced game is also fast.
Even farther than all this, I’m loving the background you are getting on all the characters. That was something with 1 I felt we were missing was a real connection to the characters. SPOILER ALERT BELOW
SERIOUSLY DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILS!
Too late now, I’m going for it.
Axton has this rather intense backstory where we found out he was going to be killed by firing squad for being a bit of a rouge solider. His commanding officer warns him so that he can go AWOL the night before and warns him to escape to the border planets. She also leaves him her wedding ring, telling him that she never really like diamonds anyway. I felt for him at this moment! This woman that he loved was telling him to leave, presumably because at some level she still loved him as well.
We can end that spoiler now.
But no really…I have a few little qualms with this game, but I’m going to give it time until full review to see if they still sit. Definitely worth the pick up and play, particularly if you have friends to play with either online or sitting next to you.
Now go, have fun, and get you some loot!

Recently I have been working a very busy schedule for my job. This coupled with school has left me limited time to work with magic, but I have managed to get in a few games in these past few days. One I would particularly like speak about is MTGO’s 4 pack sealed event.
I personally feel this event is potentially a great way to build up one’s collection while keeping costs to a minimum. My reasoning behind this thought is because the only entry requirement is 4 booster packs. The prize break down is as follows:
1st: 5 boosters
2nd – 4th: 3 boosters
5th – 7th: 1 booster
8th: 0 boosters
So if one were to some how manage to alternate between the top four slots, then essentially you could play for free forever. Of course this is only a hypothetical scenario. So now onto the actual game play.
The play is rather interesting, because unlike most games instead of playing with a 40 card deck your deck minimum is 30. This leads to a rather fast paced game. Lets not forget about those good ol’ mill decks. Not having very much experience I had gained quite a bit. So here is some basics I’ve figured for deck building in this limited format.
You want to keep to the 30 card minimum as much as possible. Next, you will want to have about 12 – 13 mana. Most likely you will probably be playing with three colors.
I know that this wasn’t the most informative post about how one should tackle the event, but I do feel this is a good start. I also came upon this older article for how to get a better understanding of this event. If you’re on a budget, then this may be something you want to get into for mtgo. And for those of your that are interested about the article I had found here it is: Magic: The Classroom.
I do apologize for not posting more. My schedule is quite hectic as I mentioned before, but I shall try my best to make a new post each week. I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Until next time have a good game. =)
