Time for another TOP 5 list. This time I’m talking about 5 games that I think you should use to introduce new players to the hobby. So they’re not for groups made completley out of new players, but for a mix.
Hope you enjoy the list, and I will see you next week with another review!
Until next time, take care.
Hello one and all!
Time for another podcast episode, this time covering the tile-laying / worker placement game Carcassonne. It’s one of those games that you can find anywhere these days usually next to Monopoly and Ticket to Ride in the toy stores and even at supermarkets. But is the game any good?
Listen and find out!
You can listen on the go on Soundcloud right here:
Listen right now, right here via YouTube:
Thans for listening, take care, cya soon!
It’s time for my very first pod that is not a review and focused on one game alone. It’s time for my very first top 5 list, and just like my other episodes, it’s my first attempt at a listing and I will be sure to learn from it and do it even better in the future. Any comments are welcome!
You can listen to the podcast right here and/or on the go:

To start of, I suck at promising myself things that I will do and then actually stick it with. Somethings I can manage easily throughout a certain amount of time but I usualy end up braking a patern and then it’s hard to get back in to it again. This really goes for any kind of promise or life decision.
Buuuuut I like making them! So instead of a: you must do this kind of thinking. I will instead do a list of things that I wish to have done during 2015 or at least attempted. No matter how much of this I do or finish I will still feel good if I just get a single thing done. So, here we go.
During 2015 I want to do the following! (In no specific order…)
1. Do an actually first draft/alpha version on one of my boardgame ideas.
2. Start doing boardgame review videos! (Alone or with a group).
3. Play in a Store Championship for a FFG game (Netrunner, Conquest etc.)
4. Get a new computer! (Can you really set this as a goal?)
5. Maaaaybe start doing a bit of streaming (again)(Like really… AGAIN)
6. Start a kickstarter, for any kind of project that has been in my head for years
7. Apply to a certain schoooool (top secret, very good, wow)
8. Get at least 10 new board games from my BG-wishlist (probably easiest on the list … )
9. Try and beat my previous best blog year (300.000 hits)
And those are the ones that I can come up with right now. Probably will put more on this list as time goes by, but for now this will do!
Until next time, take care Nurglings.
Hello my Nurglings!
The ones of you that stick around know that I do short updates at times, about me, about the blog, about several different things. Usually I promise future content, but I know that promising stuff for a blog is a bad idea if I’m not already working on it. Why? Cause it may just not happen. Like saying that you will review a game but you haven’t it played it yet. It’s just a bad idea.
Today is also the pre-release of the new Yu Gi Oh set: Order of Chaos. The Yu Gi Oh TCG is sadly a game that I’ve been pulled further and further apart from. Why? Well once you take a longer pause from Yu Gi Oh there’s a big investment to be made to get into the game again. The game is just too expensive for me to get back into right now. I can afford it, but it’s hard when I also want to continue playing Magic The Gathering and other games.
When on the subject of Magic, I just want to say: I know there is a lot of Magic going on right now on the blog. But a new set is coming out and there’s a lot to be said about it and its spoilers. Wizard of the Coast really knows how to build the hype for new sets. And I just love the whole horror theme of the Innistrad block, so it’s hard for me to hold back when they reveal new awesome cards flavored by horror.
That’s long enough of an update wasn’t it?
Also: thanks to all the new followers, subscribers and likes! You’re the ones that makes me want to keep going.
Until next time Nurglings, take care.
Hello my Nurglings!
Guess what, it’s only seven more days until Christmas. Yup, and if you just realized that maybe it’s time for you to get some last minute presents… or any presents for that matter! So what if you have a nerdy boyfriend/girlfriend or a not so nerdy relative that you would like to buy something special for. You still don’t want to go over your budget so you like around for some cheap gifts that are still fun to give away.
Well here is a list for you.
Cheap (compared to many other things) and fun nerdy gifts to give away!
In no particular order.
1. Zombie Dice
Who wants it: The Zombie lover
Cost: ~ 13$
Zombie dice is a small game that is easily transportable and you can play it almost anywhere. The goal of the game is to collect points by killing of zombies, and avoid being eaten along the way. It’s quick, it sweet and brings you some zombie inspired dice.
Who wants it: People with a sense of humor
Munchkin is a simple card game that is fast and easy to learn for anyone. It comes with a bunch of humor and several different version that fits different people. Like Zombie Munchkin or Cthuhlu Munchkin.
Who wants it: Anyone that enjoy UNO or Domino.
Cost: ~ 12$ – 30$ (12$for just the deck, around 30 for a sweet (fake) leather case).
DotCard is a card game that plays a lot like UNO but with a strong Domino theme. The game is easy to learn and anyone can sit down and enjoy it. Kids will enjoy the simple game play and older players will enjoy the strategy behind it. Perfect for any family or somebody that just enjoys gaming.
Who wants it: Anyone! (After they’ve played it).
Cost: ~ 25$
Pick up a tile, place it on the board, expand the map and place your followers in different spaces to gain points. Count the points when the tiles run out to see who wins. Just as simple it is to learn, it is to play and love! This is a game that game lovers and novices both enjoy playing. Some people may not enjoy the simple look of the game, but as soon as you get passed that, you see that there’s a great game under it.
Well hope you enjoyed the list. If you see something that’s interesting, go look it up for reviews and more information about. I hardly touched the surface of these games and they deserve more than just a few lines of text.
Until next time, take care.
Hello everyone! I must say feel good about Nurgle’s Place becoming the one blog I’m using, about games and different related hobbies. The one last thing I wish I could do with this blog, is to run it with other people, or rather, invite guest bloggers that can use this space to vent their thoughts on new games, events, reports, deck profiles and so on. I want to let the readers come back to a new content everyday from people that they know talk about interesting subject.
So I’m going to take a long look around the web tomorrow evening, try to find bloggers that blog for the joy of it, I will even be looking around on YouTube to find people that can make episodes to post on this blog. This is the next logical step for me and what I want this to become, I want it to grow and invite people from different hobbies to one place.
A forum, a youtube channel, interesting articles and comments and most importantly fun! Let’s make this into something special! If you’re interested to become a part of the Nurgle’s Place family, just leave me comment or email: Nurgleprobe@gmail.com
I’ll be happy to see you soon!
You will even get one a cute sign picture like me to use on the blog. 😉
