MTG – Standard Deck (Post rotation) – Mono Blue Talrand
Oh my lord, the huge break I’ve had from my writing the last… few months. It’s extreme. I guess I just burned out. But I’m here to give you a deck! As I just promised in an earlier post I would do some mono deck lists for the next standard format.
So here you go with the first: Mono Blue!
4x Delver of Secrets
4x Talrand, Sky Summoner
4x Snapcaster Mage
4x Jace Phantasm
4x Think Twice
4x Dream Twist
4x Thought Scour
4x Cathedral of War
I know you’re all like: wtf is up with that Dream Twist? Well there are two reasons, one, is the fact that you want to fill your opponents graveyard quick enough to make Jace’s Phantasm a 5/5 as soon as possible (Thought Scour also helps of course). The fact that Dream Twist has flashback, makes it a good card to mix with Talrand, you get a 2/2 drake from both times you cast it. So, mill 6 cards + 2 drakes isn’t a bad deal for three mana. Same goes for Think Twice, Flashback makes Talrand a lot sweeter.
Unsommon is taking the place instead of Vapor Snag, and even if you lose that 1 damage, it should probably still work with your battleplan and Snapcasters.
Cathedral of war: All about 4 damage turn two and three with delver! Living the dream!
Until next time Nurglings, take care.
