Avacyn Restored Spoiler – Land – Cavern of Souls
It’s time to take a look at a land, that taps and gives you +2/+0… or… no. Actually, it’s time for a completely new land. Again. I’m sorry, I told you I that I would talk about the new Boros land, but a new land has been spoiled that just seems somewhat more awesome. Or well, yes, more awesome.
Even though there aren’t millions of counterspells running wild in the Standard format. There are still enough out there to stop you at a critical moment. You were casting the perfect creature. Imagine if Invisible Stalker or Geist of Saint Traft had the following text.
“This spell can’t be countered.”
Now they can…
Cavern of Souls
When Cavern of Souls enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
Tap : Add to your mana pool.
Tap : Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Spent this mana only to play a creature of the chosen type. That creature cannot be countered.
And I was just starting to enjoy playing control decks. I mean, this card doesn’t make it impossible. It just makes it, a lot harder when you can counter his spells or you don’t have Ghost Quarters ready to blow it up.
I hate this card.
I love this card.
I’m not sure… about this card.
Until next time Nurglings, take care.
