Let’s talk Innistrad – Invisilbe Stalker

Hello my Nurglings!

It is time again to enter the evil plane of Innistrad and see what kinds of horrors lurk there. This time we’re going to take a look at a new and highly debated card that will be released in the coming set. Hexproof has taken the place of shroud and at times we will be blinded by the power difference of these two abilities. What if a creature was given Hexproof and Unblockable at the same time? Would you complain that the card was overpowered?

Let’s take a look at the card.

Invisible Stalker 1U
Creature – Human Rogue
Hexproof.
Invisible Stalker is unblockable.
1/1

Hell yea, that’s right, we have a Hexproof and Unblockable on a creature for two mana. Currently there are two sides to the people discussing this card. One side is saying: Oh My LORD! Cawblade have a new toy and it will ruin the format because of the swords and the fact that you won’t be able to handle it. The other side of the discussion is saying: there are so many cards in the format that can handle it so why be worried?

Okay so let’s jump back to what people will be using with this guy. He seems to be a perfect fit for a newer version of Cawblade. If this card is able to hit the field early, and not be countered, he will be an issue for many decks, I agree to that. If a sword manages to hit the field after that, for some decks it will be impossible to turn the situation around after that (before sideboarding).

A lot of people are saying that Hawk was miles better than this card ever will be. If we’re talking card economy, sure thing, Hawk fills up your hand and the hawk on the field will easily be replaced. But in the maindeck a player will have more cards to handle a 1/1 flyer, than cards that will handle a 1/1 Hexproof Unblockable creature. Some decks play NO answers to this little guy, and the card that they will have to handle after that is the swords, and even that may end up looking impossible.

Do I prefer this guy over the Hawk, yes I do. Will it be better? Depends. What kind of answers do we have for this card? Let’s take a look.

Well until next time, take care.
Cya soon!

  1. Woo- that is quite a creature!

There is also Surgical Extraction and Memoricide to take care of that sucker.

    • And with that we can see: black is the place to be haha.
Probably missed several cards that can handle it. But I bet these are the ones that will be played the most.

  2. Even I’m newbie player and when I first saw this card, I though of it as super powerful. And still think so.
